Ajmal Ibn Mohammed Althaf
Founder, CEO & Scientific Lead
Leads QuantumX and its scientific agenda across photonic device design, circuit-level tooling and post-quantum cryptography, alongside doctoral research in Molecular Quantum Mechanics.

We work with researchers, founders and engineers to turn scientific breakthroughs into companies, bringing the technology, the team and the commercial path together from day zero.
01The studio
Quantum technology rarely fails for lack of good research. It stalls in the gap between a working result and a company that can carry it: a team, a product, a first customer, and the patience to get there.
A venture studio exists to close that gap. We work with researchers, founders and engineers from the earliest stage, contributing people, technical work and company-building support, then stay involved as the venture grows.
02What we do
We originate companies around specific opportunities in the quantum stack, from first hypothesis to incorporation, and carry them through their earliest and most fragile stage.
We work with founders as co-builders, not observers. That means shared work on strategy, hiring, positioning and the decisions that shape a young company.
We help researchers test whether a result can become a product: who needs it, what it must do outside the lab, and what a credible path to market looks like.
Our engineers build alongside venture teams, turning research code and prototypes into software and systems that customers can evaluate and use.
We connect ventures to the wider QuantumX network of researchers, developers, educators and partners, and help them prepare for customers and future investors.
03Thesis
Quantum technology is moving from laboratories into products. We are interested in the companies that will make that transition real, across every layer of the stack.
Hardware approaches, architectures and the systems that make qubits usable.
Algorithms, compilers, tooling and applications for near-term and future hardware.
Cryptographic migration, assessment and quantum-safe infrastructure.
Measurement and imaging that exploits quantum effects for precision.
Photonics, control systems, cryogenics, design tools and the supply chain.
These are areas of interest for the studio, not a list of active investments.
04Ventures
In formation
The first QuantumX ventures are being formed now. Each one will be listed here when its founders are ready to announce it.
If you are working on a quantum technology that could become one of them, this is the right time to talk.
05How we build
This is the model the studio is designed around. Not every idea goes through every stage, and most stop early.
01
Find an opportunity worth a company.
02
Test the technology and the market.
03
Form the founding team.
04
Build the product and launch.
05
Support growth.
06Why QuantumX
QuantumX Ventures works within the wider QuantumX ecosystem, which designs quantum and post-quantum technology, trains quantum talent and grows a global community around both. Every venture starts with access to that engineering depth, talent and network.

The venture studio, building the next generation of quantum companies.
For ventures: Venture creation, founder collaboration and company building.
Quantum software and post-quantum security tools, including QxACE, Quark and DsynQ.
For ventures: Engineering depth and hands-on experience shipping quantum tools.
Open, accessible quantum education for students and engineers.
For ventures: A pipeline of people trained in quantum computing and security.
Events, hackathons and meetups for the global quantum community.
For ventures: Access to researchers, developers and early adopters.
Technology built across the QuantumX ecosystem. Evidence of how the team builds, not studio ventures.
